Dubuque, a city of about 80,000, is situated in eastern Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi River. Dubuque is known for its extensive collection of Mississippi River Boats. Daily trips can be made cruising the river in one of these boats and some offer gambling and overnight trips. Other Dubuque area attractions include Cathedral Square, Crystal Lake Cave, Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Dubuque Museum of Art and the Mississippi River Museum. If time permits, visitors may view the site of the filming of the motion picture "Field of Dreams" which was shot in the Dubuque area. |
